**The astronauts. The first 25 years of manned space flight**: Bill Yenne is a lifelong aerospace enthusiast and, more recently, an aerospace writer, whose work includes The History of the US Air Force; The Strategic Air Command: A Primer of Modern Strategic Airpower; Boeing: Planemaker to the World (with Robert Redding); Mc Donnell Douglas, A Tale of Two Giants; The Space Shuttle and The Enciclopedia of US Spacecraft.
He is currently based in San Francisco, where he has worked as a bool designer and cartographer for the past dozen years and where he lives with his wife and two children. He has designed or illustrated nearly a hundred books, including those mentioned as well as The Astronauts and The Space Shuttle Operator's Manual. Yenne is also a member of the American Aviation Historical Society and the Air Force Association.
