"Chris asked me to have a Coke with him after lunch - he asked me. But then he never showed up. I thought he really liked me but -" I was so angry that I couldn't finish the sentence.
"He could have forgotten, you know. I know it was rude of him, but maybe something came up unexpectedly."
"What kind of problem could have come up in three hours? And why didn't he just call me if something had happened? He knw where I was." I took a deep breath. "Did you see him at lunch?" "No. I sat with David and TOm." Ellie replied.
"What are you going to do?".
"Do? I'm going to ask him where he was and why he didn't tell me he couldn't make it. You can be sure I won't just forget about it."
