Practice is given in the identification of the correct word in individual sentences and in the comprehension of passages from modern English authors. The first group of exercises trains the student to distinguish between commonly confused words. These are followed by test papers of multiple - choice questions on sentences, following the pattern of the First Certificate examination.
The multiple-choice comprehension passages are graded in order of difficulty but all aree at the level of the examination.
