**English - My second language 1**: English - My second language is a three book course for students in secondary schools who are starting English and whose mother tongue is Spanish. The material is graded on the basis of a careful comparison of English and Spanish. Its aims are, to make the student understand spoken English easily, to speak it readily and to read and write it, in that order. The first section of book is concerned exclusively with the aural comprehension and oral reproduction of the material guven. Reading passages and written exercises are then introduced. Each book of the course is accompaniment by a separate Teacher's book giving guidance on the methods followed and invaluable teaching suggestions.
