Prairie Dawn's Purple book is for children learning English as a second language who already have some proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and expand upon these skills while developing their knowledge of history, geography, science, and math. Each of the lessons follows a carefully sequenced curriculum from topic to function to structure. Topics relate to subjects children are studying in their other classes. The functions and structures reviewed and introduced are ones that help children understand and convey information on the particular topics.
